Will today's hearing allow Birmingham Trades Towers access to belongings? Clare has an update at 5 a.m.

A court hearing today will determine if former Birmingham Trades Towers residents will be allowed back into the building to retrieve their belonging after an October fire. Attorney Frank Buck, who is representing about 85 residents, says that there are still personal items such as wheelchairs and medication inside the building. Clare Huddleston is live at 5 a.m. with more.

Fayette County residents are surveying damage this morning from strong storms that moved through the state Thursday. Strong winds brought down trees, including one that almost hit a woman as she was traveling down Highway 96.

Authorities are searching for a motive for a deadly shooting at a Virginia bus station that killed a state trooper. Chad Dermyer,37, was identified as the shooter. Two other people were  injured.
