An Atlanta cold case has a surprising Birmingham connection; Ronda Robinson will tell you more at 5 a.m.

Good morning from the digital desk! Here are some of the stories and segments you'll see this morning on Good Day Alabama:

Jury selection is set to continue in the trial of a man accused killing the first husband of Birmingham Superintendent Dr. Kelly Castlin-Gacutan. James Randolph was on the run up until six months ago when detectives found him in South Carolina. Investigators say he robbed and killed Rodney Castlin with Castlin-Gacutan was pregnant with their second child. Ronda Robinson will be live with more.

Fire officials say that a three-alarm fire at a downtown business was accidental. The fire started Wednesday at Reliable Formed Plastics as workers were making fiberglass. No injuries were reported.

Authorities are still searching for a driver who they say killed one man and injured another near Legion Field. Police say 55-year-old Frederick Threets was killed when he and a friend were crossing the street. The second man was transported to UAB Hospital with severe leg injuries.
