ASHVILLE, AL (WBRC) - Authorities have identified the man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Ashville over the weekend.

Nathan Grissom, 41, of Ashville, was shot and killed as police responded to calls of a domestic dispute on Sunday, according to the St. Clair Coroner's office.

Four officers responded to a woman's 911 call about a domestic dispute at a home and business located on 5th Avenue at about 4:30 p.m.

Grissom took out a gun, according to police.

Officers approached him and shots were fired, killing the husband. Whether or not the husband fired shots is under investigation

Authorities say there had been previous problems between Grissom and his wife. The wife had a restraining order against him.

The State Bureau of Investigation is handling the shooting. Their findings will then be turned over to the District Attorney, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
