President Obama is hitting back at Congress GOP members, saying that he won't back down from his plans to name a nominee to take Justice Scalia's Supreme Court seat. We'll have the latest at 7:05 a.m.

More than 50 plaintiffs have joined a lawsuit against Birmingham Building Trades Towers in order to get their belongings back following a 2015 fire at the apartment complex. More than a dozen disabled and elderly residents were displaced after the October fire.

Demolition on the long-abandoned Old Larkway Gardens apartments is set to begin this morning. The apartments have been called an area of criminal activity and blight. Crews will begin tearing them down at 9 a.m.
