Here's what you saw on Good Day Alabama on Feb. 12, 2016:
JEH JEH LIVE - AMSOIL Arenacross makes its inaugural visit to Birmingham tomorrow at Legacy Arena at the BJCC. AMSOIL Arenacross, "The Most Intense Racing on the Planet," brings a new look and feel, along with heart-pounding levels of energy, to the country's most well-known arenas in 2016. The championship will visit 14 cities across 13 different states in its season-long journey to crown a champion, who will be awarded the new and prestigious Ricky Carmichael Cup, named after racing legend and Hall of Fame competitor Ricky Carmichael. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster locations and on Ticketmaster.com.
DEADPOOL - Fourth wall breaking assassin Deadpool is the next Marvel hero to hit the big screen. The new movie "Deadpool" puts an R rated spin on comic book adaptations. Ryan Reynolds produces and stars as a mercenary who tries to cure his cancer with an experimental treatment that leaves him severely disfigured, but gives him super-human abilities. Ryan says it took years to bring the raunchy, quick-witted superhero to the big screen. Ryan says there was no jealousy on the set when it came to the hours he spent in the makeup trailer. Janice talked with Stan Daniel from Kingdom Comics about the film this morning. He says the first and foremost thing to know about Deadpool is this is a hard R rating. This movie is loaded with violence, sexual content, nudity and very foul language. This movie is in no way intended for kids. Having said that, Stan says it was a lot of fun! Ryan Reynolds was born to play this part, the story was good. It is a little bit predictable and the jokes and gags and references fly fast and furious all throughout the film. Ryan Reynolds is so fast with the jokes and one-liners that you will probably have to see it a couple of times before you catch everything. This movie does not take itself too seriously and neither should you. You should just go to laugh and enjoy the movie - not to think too hard about any of it. It's worth your money if you can handle the violence and the other content. It's funny, it's fast, it's self-aware and pokes fun at itself as it progresses. So if you've seen Star Wars 22 times already this is the perfect choice to tide you over until Superman Batman gets here next month. On a scale of 1 to 10, Deadpool comes in at a rude, crude 7.
