Two former Winston County sheriff's deputies are suing the county and the sheriff for wrongful termination, saying they were fired for refusing to get Sheriff Hobby Walker marijuana. Walker allegedly asked for the drug for an ailing relative. No charges have been filed, but the allegations are under investigation by the FBI and the state attorney general's office.
The case of a deadly armed robbery at a Jack's restaurant in Pleasant Grove will be heading to a grand jury. Roderick King, 19, is charged with the capital murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Ashton Roberts. King appeared in court Monday and is being held without bond.
