Good evening from the WBRC FOX6 Newsroom. This is Jonathan Hardison with a look at the stories we're following for you tonight.

Run for the border!

I’m telling you, lottery fever is real and it is spreading tonight! We have at least three different pools going in the newsroom and I’m sure you or someone you know has made a run to the state line for some Powerball tickets in the last couple of days. We’ll have the numbers for you tonight on WBRC FOX6 News as soon as they’re drawn, and our Lydia Hu is camped out in Georgia tonight live with folks rushing to get those last-minute numbers in.

Violence has residents on edge

Four violent deaths in five days in Tuscaloosa has police and neighbors worried and tonight Josh Gauntt is talking to investigators about what’s behind this spike in crime and how they’re trying to stop this streak.
