Pregnant teen homicide
Birmingham police are searching for the gunman who shot and killed a 16-year-old pregnant student, Raven Terese White of Pinson. She was killed during a robbery at an apartment in east Birmingham. White was a student at Clay-Chalkville High School. Police Chief A.C. Roper say this case is a top priority for his police force.
Two in custody after shots fired at Vestavia P.D.
An early morning manhunt resulted in two suspects in custody of Vestavia Hills Police Department. It started after a homeowner told police someone knocked on a door at 1:45 a.m. and asked for directions. Police spotted a suspicious vehicle which took off. The driver lost control and crashed. As the suspects ran, several shots were fired at officers. No one was hurt. We'll have the full story at 5 p.m.
The Crimson Tide rolled out of Tuscaloosa on buses today headed to Birmingham where they caught a flight to Phoenix for the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday. We'll have a live report from Arizona.
Fear the beak! Go JSU!
A big Saturday ahead for the JSU Gamecocks as they play for the FCS National Football Championship. The last year they won was 1992 when our own Jeh Jeh Pruitt was on the team. That same year The Crimson Tide won a national championship. Could history repeat itself? The first test comes tomorrow as JSU faces North Dakota State.
