Hoover police are still working to find a suspect in the shooting death of 33-year-old Mike Gilloti in the Hoover suburb of Lake Cyrus. Investigators recovered a vehicle connected to the case near Roland Avenue and Elmore Street in Bessemer. Gilloti was killed outside of his home around 5 a.m. while leaving for the gym.
A convicted sex offender is accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in Pleasant Grove. Police say that 51-year-old Orlando Howard assaulted the girl at a house where the child's mother was prostituting herself. He faces sodomy charges. The girl's mother is charged with failure to protect.
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders vowed reform on Wall Street, saying he wants to break up big banks during a speech in New York.
