Good evening from the WBRC FOX6 Newsroom. This is Jonathan Hardison with a look at the stories we're following for you tonight.
Neighbors react to man's death
As I said today on my Facebook page the fatal shooting of 33-year-old Iraq War vet, husband, and father Mike Gilotti in the Lake Cyrus neighborhood in Hoover angers and saddens me more than I can express. Mike walked out of his front door to go work out and some coward shot him in his front yard, where he died just minutes later. Our Vanessa Araiza tonight starting WBRC FOX6 News at 9 talking to neighbors who know the Gilotti family as well as one of the 10 neighbors whose car was broken into overnight, a crime Hoover police say Mike may have interrupted when he was shot.
Gun store sales
You know whose stock is up the last two days despite a huge market selloff to start 2016? Smith & Wesson and other major gun manufacturers. New tonight on WBRC FOX6 News at 10, our Josh Gauntt is exploring why gun stores can't keep new models in stock right now, even as President Obama rolls out new gun sale restrictions today.
