Pratt City residents still dealing with flood waters

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Good evening from the WBRC FOX6 Newsroom. This is Jonathan Hardison with a look at the stories we're following for you tonight.

Pratt City flooding

It’s been almost a week since some of the worst flooding in the Birmingham area, but tonight there are still cars stuck in water and major flooding concerns in Pratt City where our Vanessa Araiza is camped out tonight. On WBRC FOX6 News at 9, she’s talking to neighbors who are worried that these waters haven’t gone down and are even more concerned about what happens the next time we get some serious rain.

Hoverboard safety

I promise we’re not piling on here in our story on hoverboards for WBRC FOX6 News at 10. Forget (not really, but just for the moment at least) all of those fire hazards we’ve seen, what about broken bones or fractured wrists? Our Lydia Hu is talking to a mom tonight about her daughter’s injuries she says happened on a hoverboard and we’re hearing from local doctors who are treating some of these hoverboard-related injuries.
