Be prepared for dangerous weather on Wednesday

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Good afternoon from the desk of Janet Hall. Here are the stories we're working on for WBRC FOX6 News this evening.

Heads up!

We've got dangerous weather rolling in Wednesday afternoon. This system will have major thunderstorms and is likely to spawn tornadoes. In the midst of these busy days just before Christmas we want to be sure you are aware of the danger.

Join us at 6:30 tonight for a special First Alert program. WBRC Chief Meteorologist J-P Dice will walk us through the forecast with an emphasis on the timing. When will it arrive? When will it be gone? We've got it all for you.

Rescue captain indicted

The former captain of the Etowah County Rescue Squad has been indicted in the death of Vicky Ryan, a squad member who drowned during a rescue effort in April. Michael Bettis of Gadsden is charged with one misdemeanor count of criminally negligent homicide.

Home invasion in Inglenook

Birmingham police are looking for three suspects in a home invasion in Inglenook that left one person shot and two others injured. The attackers entered a home right after a man arrived to drop off his two children.

After a struggle the man was shot and another man in the home and a woman suffered head injuries. The crooks got away in a silver Saturn SUV. We'll have the latest on the search for them.
