Three people are dead—including two children— and one man is behind bars following a wreck in Jefferson County. Authorities arrested 45-year-old Lawrence Bewley on three counts of murder after they say he was under the influence of alcohol and speeding when his van hit a red Mitsubishi Saturday night.
A Tennessee community and people all over the country are remembering a teenage football player who died after shielding three of his friends during a gang shootout. Zaevion Dobson, 15, jumped on top of three girls when men fired into a crowd. President Barack Obama sent his condolences on social media, calling Dobson a hero in a tweet.
A neighborhood association in Avondale is saying it's seeing an uptick in robberies. The association says that armed robberies are happening in the 4000 block of Clairmont Avenue and the 4000 block of 7th Avenue South. We'll tell you more on Good Day Alabama.
Ted Cruz made a stop in Trussville for his "Take off with Ted" campaign. Over 900 people showed up to hear the Republican Presidential candidate speak at the Trussville Civic Center.
