MONTEVALLO, AL (WBRC) - An attempted robbery on the west side of the University of Montevallo Monday is under investigation.

Police say the suspects tried to rob a UM student on North Boundary Street near Napier Hall on Monday, Dec. 7. No weapon was involved.

"We encourage our campus to be aware of your surroundings in order to be safe this time of the year. The holidays tend to see an increase in crime. We encourage our campus community to be more vigilant. Your safety is our highest priority," the department said on its Facebook page.

The police department released images of two people they believe were possibly involved in the robbery. The surveillance images were taken in a McDonald's around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 7.
