TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Elba had revenge on its mind Friday and walked out of Bryant-Denny Stadium with a championship.
The Tigers defeated the defending Class 2A champion Fyffe Red Devils 36-22. The win avenges the Tigers' loss to the Red Devils in last year's championship game and gives Elba its fourth title overall.
The Tigers did most of their damage on the ground. They totaled 307 rushing yards and all five of their touchdowns came on runs.
Quarterback Blake Edwards led the Tigers in rushing with 114 yards on 13 carries. He scored on a 36-yard run for the game's final touchdown.
Stefan Caldwell and Ramsey Rigby each crossed the goal line twice.
Caldwell totaled 88 yards on 12 carries and scored on runs of 15 and three yards.
Rigby finished with 62 yards on 8 carries and scored on five and 20-yard runs.
All three of Fyffe's touchdowns came from Dilan Fitzpatrick. He rushed for 117 yards on 31 carries and scored on runs of one, eight and three yards.
