Maplesville wins back-to-back Class 1A titles in win over Cedar Bluff

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Maplesville defended its Class 1A state championship against Cedar Bluff on Thursday in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The Red Devils claimed a 59-24 win over the Tigers for their third title in school history.

Terrence Dunlap stole the show for the Red Devils by rushing for four touchdowns on runs of three, 35, five and 61 yards out.

Dunlap also caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Nicholas Spencer for a score. He finished with 260 yards on 24 carries.

Spencer also completed touchdown passes to Trevor Wallace that gained 12 yards and a 15-yarder to Stevon Bradley.

Spencer completed 11-of-15 passes for 148 yards.

The Red Devils' final score came on a 40-yard fumble return by Jeremy Williams in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers found the end zone four times. Josh Decker completed touchdown passes to DJ Chapman on gains of seven and 20 yards and to Jamie Abernathy on gains of 30 and 75 yards.

Decker finished 14-of-28 with 240 yards.
