TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - A Tuscaloosa man is facing burglary and drug possession charges after police say he attempted to force his way into a business where he used to work.
Wesley Christopher McIntyre, 21, is facing third-degree attempted burglary, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana charges after police say he attempted to break into a business in the 300 block of Merchant's Walk Tuesday night.
Investigators were looking into reports of burglaries in the area when they heard loud noises and spotted the suspect outside of the business, according to a news release from the Tuscaloosa Police Department.
Initial investigation revealed that McIntyre was a former employee of the business and that the damage to the business' door was new.
Officers also recovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia and Adderall pills.
McIntyre is being held on a $48,000 bond in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
