10 more join lawsuit against Birmingham Trades Towers apartments

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Ten more people have joined a lawsuit against the Birmingham Building Trades Tower Apartments.

The fire last month forced the evacuation of all of the residents who were mostly older or disabled.

A memorial will be held on Saturday for John Bardan, the wheelchair-bound amputee who was left behind in the evacuation and found alive two days later.

He died last week in the hospital and his death has been blamed on a drug overdose.

A lawyer has filed a lawsuit against the apartments accuses the owners of negligence and wanton behavior.
