Good morning!  Some of the stories we are working on for you this morning on Good Day Alabama:

The St. Clair Correctional Facility is still on lockdown this morning.  This comes after an inmate was stabbed to death.

Breaking news out of South Carolina where the campus of Spartanburg Methodist College is on lockdown after a deadly officer-involved shooting.

And breaking news in the sports world, former Major league baseball pitcher Tommy Hanson passed away overnight at the age of 29.   He died in Atlanta after being hospitalized in a coma.

Tuscaloosa police and more witnesses talk about police reaction to a noise complaint. The police chief says he was disappointed in how some of his officers responded after seeing some of the video of the arrests.

Several University of Missouri student organizations, including the football team, saw their demands met after weeks of controversy.   UM Systems President Tim Wolfe resigned Monday after there were several complaints that he was indifferent to racial incidents on campus.

We told you about the former Alabama tennis player who found a clip of money at the Alabama-LSU game and used social media to find its rightful owner.  Well, Greg Bowling of north Alabama was able to identify the initials on the money clip and claim the money.  He joins us at 6:25 a.m. to talk about the show of honesty and integrity from Linda Burns!

Many streets closed this morning in Charleston after heavy rain caused mild flooding.  The rain continued overnight, but their forecast is looking drier the rest of the week.

Another Republican Presidential Debate is set for tonight.  We'll talk with a political analyst for a preview.

    A three-vehicle crash on I-59 near mile marker 62 left one dead and another injured on Friday morning shortly after 9:30. 53-year-old Lovell Baldwin, Jr. of York was killed when his 1994 Honda Civic was struck by a 2013 Toyota Avalon driven by 30-year-old Daphne Violet Palmer of Tuscaloosa.  Baldwin was pronounced dead on the scene. Palmer was transported to an area hospital for treatment.  A 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 was involved after the initial collision. No more details a...More >>
