Veteran wants apology from flag vandals

Good evening from the WBRC FOX6 Newsroom! This is Jonathan Hardison with a look at the stories we're following for you tonight.

Officers replace veteran's vandalized flag

You've probably seen this post of an Alabaster Korean War veteran whose American flag was vandalized over the weekend, and the great story of how some Alabaster police officers showed up unannounced to replace it for him. Tonight on WBRC FOX6 News at 9, our Sherea Harris is talking to the veteran about how much this gesture and the overwhelming social media response means to him.

Vigil for slain Oxford teen

And new for WBRC FOX6 News at 10 we're in Anniston, at a prayer vigil tonight for Broderick Taylor, the teen shot after a fight on Friday night and whose older brother, a linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, played in his honor and memory on Sunday. Tonight Taylor's family is talking about their loss and the arrest of a suspect.
