JODECI - Two sets of teenage brothers traveled from Charlotte, NC to New York City in the early 90s with $300 and dreams of stardom. A chance encounter at Uptown Records resulted in that dream becoming a reality, when they landed a recording contract and began a successful music career that has spanned more than 20 years. Known for their smooth sound and 'bad boy' image, Jodeci has delivered multiple number one singles, multi-platinum albums and classic R&B hits like Forever My Lady, Love You For Life, and Stay. After a break to pursue successful solo careers and production opportunities, Jodeci returned in 2015 with a new album titled "The Past, the Present, the Future," which is filled with smooth, yet familiar sounds that can be classified at 'vintage Jodeci.' The lead single from the album, Every Moment, was number one on the Billboard Adult R&B charts for three weeks, making Jodeci the only group to ever return to the scene after 22 years and top the charts with a number one hit. Mr. Dalvin joined us in studio today. He produced some of the group's chart-topping singles, like Get On Up. In addition to producing hits for Jodeci, he's also worked with other amazing artists like Mariah Carey, 2 Pac, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and many more Dalvin started performing at the age of two, and at nine was drumming in his father's gospel group, The DeGrate Delegation. Catch Jodeci tonight at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the box office or online at www.ticketmaster.com. The line-up includes Jodeci, Dru Hill, Doug E Fresh and SWV, with Rickey Smiley as the host.
