Fire victims look for homes and GE Aviation brings new jobs to Huntsville

Good afternoon from the desk of Janet Hall.  Here are the stories we’re working on for WBRC FOX6 News this evening.

Fire victims look for homes
Dozens of elderly and disabled residents are looking for a home tonight after being forced to evacuate the Birmingham Trades Towers yesterday. A fire left considerable water and smoke damage. We’ll follow up with some of the residents now living in temporary shelters.

GE Aviation brings new jobs
Governor Robert Bentley joined Huntsville leaders today in announcing that GE Aviation is bringing 300 new jobs to Huntsville and a $200 million investment. GE will create new factories to mass produce components for jet engines.

The history of black face
It seems every Halloween we have a story about someone who stirs controversy after using blackface makeup as part of a costume. Why is it considered so offensive and racially insensitive? We’ll talk to an expert about the history of black face at 6 p.m.

Those stories and more beginning at 5 p.m. on WBRC FOX6 News.
