OYSTER COOK-OFF - Food Network Star contestant Martie Duncan joined us along with George Reis with the scoop on he Hangout Oyster Cook-Off & Craft Beer Weekend in Gulf Shores. The festival takes place November 6-8. The Hangout Oyster Cook-Off & Craft Beer Weekend in Gulf Shores is November 6-7. The two-day family friendly festival attracts 10,000 visitors to the white powder beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. This year's festival kicks off with Craft Beer Friday, featuring over 20 breweries, and the release of Hoptub Bath Machine, a collaborative brewing project with four Alabama breweries and Dale Katechis from Oskar Blues. On Saturday, 70+ chefs like James Beard Award Winners Alon Shaya, Ryan Prewitt, Greg Baker will serve three interpretations of Gulf Oysters and compete for the title of "Best Oyster." New this year is The North American Oyster Showcase featuring oysters from seven distinct regions of the continent. During the festival, an expert panel will assemble to develop an oyster lexicon and ranking system. FINEBAUM ON FOOTBALL - Janice talked with Paul Finebaum about the full weekend of football. They discuss Auburn's four overtime game that ended in a loss to Arkansas. Auburn faces Ole Miss this Saturday in another early game. Alabama took on rival Tennessee. It remained a close game until the end, but Bama pulled out the win. Now Alabama gets a much needed week off before taking on LSU next weekend. Ole Miss pulled out a big win over Texas A&M after a very disappointing week last week losing the Memphis. In one of the upsets over the weekend, Georgia Tech beat Florida State! It was a huge win for Tech and a major loss for FSU. And Clemson looks strong with a blow-out against Miami.
