Happening now, Birmingham police are looking for whoever shot and killed a security guard at a Woodlawn apartment complex.

Breaking overnight: Former Alabama running back Altee Tenpenny has passed away in a car accident. first reported the tragedy and several Alabama players confirmed this over twitter by expressing their condolences. Tenpenny transferred from Alabama in January but was recently dismissed from his third team after being arrested for possession of a firearm and discharging a weapon Sunday morning.

And breaking national news to tell you about:  one of New York's finest dies after a gun battle with a suspect.

Police in New Mexico looking for a suspect in a shooting case that involves a 4-year-old girl.   Police say the little girl died after being shot in a road rage incident.
