After beginning another morning under clear skies and temps in the 40s to 50s, we are expected to experience a little bit warmer highs today. With sunny skies expected this afternoon and light winds out of the east at around 5 mph, we could easily experience temps ranging from 86 degrees in Birmingham, 88 degrees in Tuscaloosa, and 82 to 83 degrees in Anniston and Gadsden.
Friday should be a day much like today, but a little cooler.
But, the big cool down comes after a front clears our area during the day on Friday. First of all, that front is not expected to bring us any rainfall, and very limited cloud cover, but it should bring a noticeable temperature change. Highs this weekend will likely only top out in the 60s...and overnight lows in the 40s to even upper 30s in some rural areas.
Our next best chance of rain was forecast to come toward the end of next week, but those long range models are now beginning to be questionable.
There does appear however to be a surge of moisture to our west out of the Gulf of Mexico at that time.
Stay tuned for further updates.
