Good afternoon from the desk of Janet Hall.  Here are the stories we’re working on for WBRC FOX6 News this evening.
 
Layoff of coal miners
Walter Energy is laying off 129 workers at Jim Walters Resources in Brookwood. The layoffs came today as some 2,000 miners rallied together. We’ll have the full story on WBRC FOX6 News at 5 p.m.
 
Hanceville development
Can some old boarded up store fronts be turned into college dorms?  That’s one idea being considered in Hanceville. We’ll take a closer look at 5 p.m.
 
Teenagers in crisis
Is your teenager at risk of depression or abusing drugs? We have a phone panel of experts today from The Crisis Center.  They’ll take your questions from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and we’ll highlight some of the toughest issues teens are facing today.
