Good afternoon from the desk of Janet Hall. Here are the stories we’re working on for WBRC FOX6 News this evening.

Deadly collision between truck and train

We are learning more about the collision between a Ford F150 and a train in Leeds. The driver of the truck, Andeldez Guadalupe Dasquez-Lugo, was killed in the crash. Authorities say it appears she went around crossing guards and was trying to beat the train. We’ll have a report tonight from neighbors who say trains often block their neighborhood.

Baby’s mom talks about viral picture

We’ve shown you the picture of Jefferson County Deputy Rick Lindley holding a baby after a bad wreck this week. As you know it went viral on social media. Well, today we hear from the baby’s mother, who thanked Deputy Lindley in person.

Luke Bryan concert in McCalla tonight

Plans for a concert by country music superstar Luke Bryan are causing some traffic concerns tonight. Some schools even closed early to avoid traffic issues. We’ll have the latest as concert goers make their way to the 7 p.m. show.
