On Wednesday, October 14, and Wednesday, October 28, millions of high school sophomores and juniors across the country will take the new PSAT/NMSQT - The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, a test that focuses on the skills and knowledge evidence shows matter most for college and career readiness. The PSAT/NMSQT also connects students to opportunities such as Advanced Placement Program®/AP® courses, nearly $180 million in scholarships and — because of the College Board's partnership with Khan Acadeny— personalized practice for the new SAT which will be first administered in March 2016. The College Board's James Montoya explained the role and value of the PSAT/NMSQT and share important information on how families can use the feedback contained in the score reports both to determine their child's likelihood for success in AP courses and to create a practice plan for the new SAT on khanacademy.org.

OUR HOUSE - Cathy Borden with the Home Depot joined us to teach us all about paint! She says many people look to spruce up or completely change their interiors before the upcoming holiday season and the arrival of visitors to their home. Consider a new paint color to make a big change on a small budget. The number one do-it-yourself project homeowners attempt is painting. But she warns not all paint is created equal. There are features that homeowners want to consider when making your selection. You should pick properly when it comes to interior paint, exterior paint, paint with primer, etc. New technology helps save time and money with paint that completely covers your walls in one coat - even over dark or bright colors. These paints are also highly stain resistant and very durable in high traffic areas.
