Good morning from Good Day Alabama! Here are just a few of the stories we are working on this morning:

Covering local elections:  After 20 years, the city of Talladega will have a new mayor.  Last night, the incumbent mayor, Larry Barton, lost re-election to Jerry Cooper, Sr.

Montgomery's incumbent mayor, Republican Todd Strange, will remain in office.

Hope you loved the beautiful weather yesterday, because Wes says it's going to continue today.

Washington is expecting four days of rain which will be a welcome sight for firefighter's who've been battling a massive wildfire for days.

We'll also be keeping a close eye on Wall Street again today.  The Dow finished down 200+points yesterday.  The 6th straight day of losing.

This morning, 3 people face charges for shooting and killing a man at a Tuscaloosa apartment complex.

Decatur police are investigating a shooting at a Burger King, after a dispute with parents ends in gunfire!

A 14-year-old student in West Virginia held 29 students and teacher hostage at gunpoint.   The gunman eventually surrendered to police.  Thankfully no one was injured.

A famous beach in Hawaii is closed due to raw sewage that has spilled into the water.  We'll talk live with a reporter from our Raycom station there.

Luci and Daphne didn't win the big prize flipping their beach house, but the duo joins us again with an update on their reality show and teamwork changed their lives! 

The doctor joins us to answer questions about your pets! 

We catch up with Mickey's friends at the Birmingham Zoo! He checks out the new bear exhibit!
