BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

You can now sign up to be a member of Birmingham's new bike share program.

Organizers are hoping 200 people will sign up for the program, which opens September 24. A 2-year membership is listed at $200.

It will include 400 bicycles and 40 docking kiosks deployed in Birmingham's city center.

If an annual membership doesn't interest you, riders can also pay for 24-hour ($6) and 7-day rentals ($20). There is a companion app available to help riders find available bicycles and keep track of ride times.
