Good evening from the FOX6 Newsroom! This is Jonathan Hardison with a look at some of the stories we're following this evening for you.
Planned Parenthood controversy
I hope you're enjoying the Saints game on WBRC FOX6 and I really hope you'll stick around after the game for FOX6 News, hopefully around 9:30 p.m. We're getting new reaction from Governor Bentley tonight to a warning from the federal government that his decision to defund Planned Parenthood in Alabama may be breaking federal law.
Gun law debate
Plus, Josh Gauntt is talking to some local sheriffs tonight who are lobbying state lawmakers not to pass a new bill that would make it legal to carry a gun in your car without a permit. Not only do they oppose that law, these sheriffs say they'd like the state to toughen up its gun permitting requirements after the Louisiana theater shooter was able to legally buy a gun at a Phenix City pawn shop last year.
Those stories and more beginning at 9 on FOX6 News. I hope you'll watch us on air, online at MyFoxAl.com or in the WBRC News app by clicking "Live Newscasts."
