How to use the WBRC FOX6 News app

The WBRC News app is a free app featuring local news from WBRC FOX6 News.

The app is equipped with breaking news and severe weather alerts, sports, traffic and the ability to receive breaking news push alerts.

To help guide you through some of the features, WBRC FOX6 News Anchor Beth Shelburne filmed a short video on how to navigate through the app.

Ways to Download

To download the WBRC FOX6 News app visit the App Store/Google Play and search "WBRC FOX6 News" and you'll see the WBRC TV News app. Tap "Get" then "Install" on an iPhone or "Install" on an Android.

If you are reading this from a mobile device, you can also click here to download the WBRC News app for your smart phone or text "app" to 20566 to download the news and weather apps. Message and data rates may apply.

Top Stories

By default, this is the section you will see when you open the app. In this section you will see the top stories that we are reporting on in the WBRC FOX6 News coverage area as well as national stories. This section is updated constantly.

Category Menu

To navigate through the various sections of the app, look in the top left corner for the three horizontal lines. Once you tap on that you will see the list of categories to select which area(s) where you would like to get more information.

Live Newscasts

Live Newscasts allows you to watch WBRC FOX6 News from your mobile device while we are on the air. If you see a screen that says "We'll be right back" that means we are not on the air at that time. Click here for a programming guide so you don't miss another newscast!

Live Events

This category is different from Live Newscasts. This is where you will want to go if we are streaming a live event such as a press, news or sports conference.

Traffic Tracker

Customize the interactive Traffic Tracker map to make sure you are in the know on all the accidents, road closures and road construction in your area.

Fugitive Finder

WBRC FOX6 News works with several agencies to help locate wanted fugitives in central Alabama. The Fugitive Finder contains mugshots of these wanted fugitives and if you recognize any of the individuals you are asked to contact authorities.

This section will be where you find more details, links and resources, important events and community stories that have been covered in our newscast.
