Get the latest on Ebola-like symptoms in Birmingham at 6 a.m.

Good morning!  Just some of the stories we are working on this morning for you on Good Day Alabama:

Jefferson County Health Department Officials and the Centers for Disease Control are monitoring nine people who were exposed to a person with Ebola-like symptoms in west Birmingham.  The person traveled in from a part of Africa where Ebola is still present. We'll have a live report and talk with health officials.

The field for the first full-scale Republican Presidential debate is set.  Fox News, which will air the debate at 7 p.m. tomorrow, narrowed it to ten candidates based on polling numbers.  Our political analyst will break it down at 7:30 a.m.. School starts this morning for Birmingham City Schools.  State schools superintendent, Dr. Tommy Bice will join us at 8 a.m. to talk about legislators planning to take money away from the Educational Trust Fund.

This morning, a former Brookwood High School teacher faces charges for having sexual contact with a student.Joe Petrey is in custody right now.

Talks to raise new revenue and fix the budget were derailed at the Alabama State House.  Again, Republican lawmakers are proposing a huge, multi-million dollar cut to Medicaid.
