The FOX6 StormWarn team has details on our drier weather this weekend.
WEEKEND OVERVIEW: A hotter air mass poised to our west slowly builds in and that means highs will be back in the middle 90s and feels like temperatures reach the lower 100s. Each afternoon, isolated pop up showers and storms will bring brief heat relief. Best chance for that on Saturday sets up along and especially east of I-65. Future radar on Sunday shows the better pop up chance along and south of I-20. I wouldn't focus too much on the where because pop ups can happen anywhere on the map though certain areas may see a slightly higher chance of that happening.
WHAT? Isolated storms on Saturday and Sunday.
WHEN? Any time between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
WHERE? Anywhere though best chance on Saturday is east Alabama and Sunday south of I-20.
STRONG STORMS? A rogue strong storm will be possible with wind gusts over 40 mph, frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall.
Temperatures climb next week, especially the feels like temperature between Monday and Wednesday. We will be close to meeting heat advisory criteria. The heat looks to back off to end the week and rain chances spike during that time frame too.
