Deputies talk about hunt for kidnapping suspect and Wes is tracking our next round of storms

Good evening from the FOX6 Newsroom! This is Jonathan Hardison with a look at some of the stories you'll see beginning on FOX6 News at 9.

Search is on for 'armed and dangerous' suspect

Tonight we're all keeping a close eye on a major manhunt in Bibb County where deputies are looking for John Barry Hubbard, who they think shot and killed his ex-girlfriend's sister and kidnapped his ex-girlfriend. Our Josh Gauntt is out with searchers inside a 25-mile area that includes some national forest and we'll have a live update on the search and the new information we've learned about the history between Hubbard and his ex coming up starting on FOX6 News at 9.

Suspect captured

Speaking of manhunts, the one for DeMarcus Means, the man suspected of killing 18-year-old Haleigh Green in Shelby County, ended in Los Angeles this morning at a bus station when U.S. Marshals picked him up. Tonight our Sherea Harris is getting new reaction to the arrest from Columbiana's mayor and getting new information about when Means may be back in Alabama to face charges.

Tracking our next round of storms

Plus those pop-up storms late this afternoon probably interfered with your commute home, but Wes says expect an even better chance of rain in the next day or two. His latest model data is part of our 90 minutes of news starting on FOX6 News at 9.
