Homewood cleans up from intense storm and father grieves for son shot and killed

Happy Friday from the desk of Jonathan Hardison! Here are some of the stories we're working on tonight:

Homewood storm damage

I hope you and your family are drying out and safe after a pretty nasty storm rolled through the Birmingham metro late this afternoon. It looks like Homewood was hit the hardest with several trees on houses, a gas leak, and a family that's lucky to be unhurt tonight after a tree fell on the car with a mom and her three kids inside. We'll hear from that mom (who's remarkably calm about all of this, by the way) in our storm coverage coming up on FOX6 News at 9.

Talladega man shot dead

And new on FOX6 News at 10 we're talking to the father of a Talladega man who was shot and killed. Tonight he's remembering his son and hoping police will catch his killer.

Those stories and more beginning at 9 on FOX6 News. I hope you'll watch us on air, online at MyFoxAl.com or in the WBRC News app by clicking "Live Newscasts."
