Happening today: a major statewide announcement. The governor's office says they will hold a press conference today. Alabama Governor Robert Bentley and Attorney General Luther Strange, along with governor's and attorney generals from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida are expected to participate. Right now, we do not have a lot of details about the press conference. It may center on a B-P oil settlement over the major gulf oil spill. The press conference is set for 8:00 a.m. We'll have coverage on Good Day Alabama and our WBRC News App.
We are also asking you to share the photo of Stephen Hutcheson. U.S. marshal’s agents have now joined the searching for the McCalla man accused of brutally killing his wife and children. Police now learning disturbing details about the deadly shooting. Stephen Hutcheson faces four counts of capital murder. The victims: his wife and two children. The fourth count is because one of the three victims is under 14-years-old.The shooting happened early Saturday morning. Police say Hutcheson shot his wife and daughter twice and his son three times. Investigators say he left the house to meet his girlfriend. They allegedly used cocaine and stayed in a Bessemer motel until Sunday morning. Detectives say the girlfriend has been cooperative and *was not* involved in the murders. Go to the WBRC app to share the picture of Hutcheson to help police capture this suspect.
FOX6 News Reporter Clare Huddleston is at the Shelby county jail giving us information on the arrest of state senator Cam Ward. The senator was arrested and charged with DUI.
