Good afternoon from the desk of Janet Hall. Here are the stories we're working on for FOX6 News this evening.

Gas leak on UA campus

A natural gas leak on the east side of the Quad on the University of Alabama campus has led to an evacuation of several buildings. The leak has been stopped but at least four classroom buildings were evacuated as a precaution to allow time for the buildings to air out.

Is courthouse mural racist?

A mural in the Jefferson County Courthouse is coming under fire from critics who say it is racist and should be removed. The mural depicts African Americans working in a cotton field. We'll take a closer look at the controversy on FOX6 News at 6.

Deontay Wilder childrens' book

We know Deontay Wilder is the heavyweight champ from Tuscaloosa. But did you know he is releasing a children's book and donating the profits? We'll take you to his book signing this evening.
