Will Joyce Garrard get a new trial?

A judge is considering a request for a new trial for the woman convicted of capital murder in her granddaughter's running death. A hearing is now set for Thursday for 50-year-old Joyce Garrard. Her attorneys claim jurors violated court orders to avoid news coverage during the trial.

Elder abuse awareness

Did you know today is Elder Abuse Awareness Day? We'll take a look at how to spot elder abuse and what to do to keep it from happening to a loved one.

Search for drowning victim

The search continues for 30-year-old Christopher Mostello in the waters of the Coosa River in Etowah County. Officials say he did not know how to swim but somehow fell or got out of a boat and has not been seen since. The search began Sunday afternoon.
