Happy Friday from the desk of Jonathan Hardison! I hope you had a nice week. Here are some of the stories we're working on for you tonight.

Federal judge resigns

We broke the news on our WBRC News App this afternoon that Federal Judge Mark Fuller is resigning effective August 1, but that's not enough for Congresswoman Terri Sewell who tonight tells us "justice was not served." Tonight on Fox6 News at 9 we'll share her interview including why she says this case sends the wrong message to domestic violence victims and what new information we're learning tonight about Fuller's future after the bench.

Escape in Sudan

And imagine having to hide out in the Sudanese jungle from guerilla troops who have threatened to kill you, all while you're on a mission trip to try and give folks who need it some clean water to drink. That's what happened to a woman who is resting in Birmingham tonight after escaping with her life. She'll share her amazing story with Christy Hutchings on FOX6 News at 10.

Those stories and more beginning at 9 on FOX6 News. I hope you'll watch us on air, online at MyFoxAl.com or in the WBRC News app by clicking "Live Newscasts."
