Good evening from the desk of Jonathan Hardison! I hope you're having a nice evening. Here are some of the stories we're working on for you tonight.

Keeping up with the recalls

Our family is a big believer in buying used cars rather than new but one thing I always worry about is making sure that I'm up-to-speed on any maintenance with my pre-owned vehicle, especially any outstanding recalls. Sometimes it feels like a full-time job keeping track of recall notices! A new app promises to help you stay safe and our John Huddleston putting it to the test tonight on FOX6 News at 9.

Lightning tracking
Also tonight, Chief Meteorologist J-P Dice explores new technology that could cut your chances of being injured by lightning, and shows you how we've incorporated that safety system into our WBRC Weather App.

Fighting 'spice'
"Say no to MoJoe" is a new campaign some folks in Tuscaloosa are pushing tonight to try and prevent overdoses and deaths from a new version of spice (synthetic marijuana) called "MoJoe." Reporter Josh Gauntt is talking to someone who almost died after taking MoJoe as well the woman behind the campaign to make you aware of it before it hurts someone you know. That's all new on FOX6 News at 10.

Those stories and more beginning at 9 on FOX6 News. I hope you'll watch us on air, online at MyFoxAl.com or in the WBRC News app by clicking "Live Newscasts."
