Crimes prompt several school lockdowns and Birmingham-Southern College welcomes new president

Good afternoon from the desk of Janet Hall.  Here are the stories we're working on for FOX6 News this evening.
 
More violence in Birmingham

Even as the SCLC calls for a crackdown on violence in Birmingham neighborhoods there is yet another shooting to report. This one was outside the funeral of one of three young men gunned down this past weekend.
 
School lockdowns

Several Vestavia Hills schools were put on lockdown today while police searched for two burglary suspects. The lockdowns were dropped after the two were caught and arrested. And in Smithfield, a shooting happened prompted a lockdown at Parker High School.
 
New President for BSC

Birmingham-Southern College has named a new president to follow the Ret. Gen. Charles Krulak. Dr. Edward Leonard III will become the college's 14th president. We'll have more details on Dr. Leonard.
