Shahan murder case
Sexually explicit emails were discussed in court today in the case of former Homewood pastor Richard Shahan. He is accused of murdering his wife Karen. Some of the emails are written from Shahan to two male lovers. There is also an email from his wife saying her husband must choose between her and his homosexual lovers. A pre-trial hearing is set for August with the trial expected in spring of next year.
Vigil for triple homicide victims
Birmingham police are still looking for the suspects they believe gunned down three men Monday at a Smithfield home. A vigil for the three victims is being held this evening. We'll have a live report.
Reading and writing boost
Alabama fourth graders are lagging behind in reading and writing. We'll tell you how the state superintendent of schools hopes to change that.
