Jasper doctor indicted on drug charges and fight continues over how to fix state budget

Warnings and proposals

Governor Robert Bentley is using his Twitter account to warn of budget cuts and the impact on various state agencies. Meanwhile we're getting a first look at a gambling proposal to bring in revenue with a lottery and casinos. We'll have details of the plan being pushed by Republican Senator Del Marsh.

Jasper doctor indicted

A federal grand jury has indicted Dr. Muhammad Wasim Ali who owns the Walker Rural Health Care/Jasper Neurological Care Clinic. DEA agents arrested Ali and searched his clinic March 27. He is accused of illegally dispensing oxycodone to three undercover agents.

Auburn player arrested

Auburn Football Coach Gus Malzahn confirms that defensive end Elijah Daniel has been arrested on four counts of burglary and four counts of theft of property. His bond is set at $24,000. Daniel is suspended indefinitely from the team.
