Eyewitness calls pilot 'lucky'
Imagine looking out your motel room window to see a small plane skidding towards your front door. That's the sight that greeted folks inside the Towne Inn in Sylacauga this afternoon as a training flight went terribly wrong on takeoff and some skilled piloting ended up saving potentially several lives. Our Sherea Harris (@ShereaHarris) was one of the first crews on the scene and she's been tweeting updates all night, she's live tonight with the latest on what we know about what may have caused that engine to fail on takeoff.
Woman talks about losing friend
Vicky Ryan got in the Etowah County Rescue Squad boat Saturday to help a kayaker who was in trouble and later died, but when her boat capsized, Vicky was killed and tonight our Erika Gonzalez is talking to one of Vicky's close friends who had just gotten to the swollen creek's banks when the boat capsized. What she saw and how this is affecting all of those rescuers is what Erika Gonzalez is working for new on Fox6 News at 10.
Neighbors feel blessed 4 years after April 27
