Passing thunderstorms rip roof off of Robertsdale business

ROBERTSDALE, AL (WALA) -

One local business owner was shocked Saturday afternoon, April 25, to learn that the roof of his business had been torn off of the building, and was laying on the sidewalk.

Mike Elliot, owner of Mike's Saw and Cycle, a lawn mower retail store in Robertsdale, told FOX10 he couldn't believe the passing thunderstorms did such damage to his business.

"Couldn't believe it, you know, we've been through hurricanes and haven't had this much damage," said Elliot.

Elliot said he had just bought new computers for the store's office, but because the roof had been ripped from the building, the inside of the store suffered a significant amount of flooding. He said the computers are ruined.

The owner expects it will be several weeks before he can get his business up and running again.
