Church evacuated after threats and fatal wreck suspect identified as escaped inmate

Good afternoon from the desk of Janet Hall. Here are the stories we're working on for FOX6 News this evening.

Church at Brook Hills evacuated

The Church at Brook Hills was evacuated today after threats to its sister church organization Radical. Birmingham Police swept the building and turned up nothing. A service called "Secret Church" will be simulcast from an undisclosed location. Police are still investigating.

"Master deceptionist" arrested

A man described as a "master deceptionist" is under arrest for stealing a pickup and crashing it into a car killing two elderly women. Police confirmed the identity of 51-year-old Martin Jay Creasman today. They say he gave them a fake name and social security number. Fingerprints finally confirmed his identity. Police say he has an extensive criminal record with 60 charges and in fact had walked away from a prison work center.

Second arrest in bar shooting

Two men are now facing charges for a violent fight inside Kennedy's Bar in Tuscaloosa Thursday morning. Alex Kenyon Henderson faces a third degree assault charge while Sterling Bradford Rowe faces attempted murder and assault charges. Rowe is accused of shooting at the person Henderson was fighting. We'll have the latest on efforts to shut down the bar by the City of Tuscaloosa.
