Deadly crashes claim 3 lives today and the state park system catches a break

Good afternoon from the desk of Janet Hall. Here are the stories we're working on for FOX6 News this evening.

Deadly crashes

A deadly day on the roads as two accidents claim three lives. The first happened on Crestwood Boulevard when a man driving a stolen pickup crashed into a car, killing two women. The second crash was this afternoon in Bessemer where a train hit a car, killing the driver. We're working now to learn more. We'll have the full story at 5.

Matt Pitt trial

The fate of youth evangelist Matt Pitt is now in the hands of a jury. The trial wrapped up today as jurors listened to closing arguments as to whether Pitt should be convicted of impersonating a law enforcement officer. We'll have alive report from the courthouse.

State park system catches a break

Alabama State Parks will stay open at least for now. Governor Robert Bentley today told the State Parks Division to delay the planned closings for May 1st until further notice. We're still waiting to see how the legislature will respond to the governor's call for a tax hike.
