Meet the Hoover superintendent candidates and lawmakers push to update the Do Not Call law

Greetings from the desk of Jonathan Hardison! I hope you're having a nice evening. Here are some of the stories we're working on tonight:

Hoover superintendent search

Who will lead one of the largest school systems in the Birmingham metro? We've just learned who the five finalists are to interview to be Hoover's next schools superintendent and Erika Gonzalez is working up a list for us now of their backgrounds and what they would bring to the job. You can follow her @erikagonzaleztv for updates and she'll be able to dig into the list tonight starting on Fox6 News at 9.

No, really, don't call me!

What good is a do not call list if you're still getting robocalls from telemarketers at home or on your cell? Not very helpful and if you're like our family we value that time around the dinner or lunch table so those out-of-state calls can be especially maddening. Tonight we've got an update on a new push to get Congress to update the Do Not Call law and how you can apply some pressure if you'd like, on Fox6 News at 10.

I hope you'll join us for these stories and more beginning at 9 p.m. Watch us on air, online at

or through the WBRC News app.
