Gadsden woman survives violent home invasion and music fans mourn Percy Sledge

Gadsden home invasion

A Gadsden woman is recovering after being the victim of a home invasion. Three men crashed into her home, robbed her and threatened to kill her. A neighbor ended up shooting and killing one of the attackers. We'll have the latest on the investigation on FOX6 News at 5.

Downtown renovations

Two historic buildings in Birmingham are set for renovation. The Empire Building and the old Alagasco building are going to be turned into hotels. The deal with Marriott Hotels was announced today by Mayor William Bell. We'll have more details on FOX6 News at 6.

Percy Sledge passes away

The soul singer best known for When a Man Loves a Woman has passed away. Percy Sledge died this morning following a long battle with cancer. He was born in Alabama and recorded much of his music in Muscle Shoals. He was an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
